Preview of the oldest Festival in Europe about LGBTQI culture and third oldest in the whole world

(Torino at the Cinema Massimo - MNC from the 24th to the 28th of April 2019)



From the 24th to the 28th of April 2019 will take place in Torino at the Cinema Massimo – MNC the oldest festival in Europe about LGBTQI culture (lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transexuals, queer and intersexuals) and third oldest in the whole world, directed by Irene Dionisio and with Giovanni Minerba's artistic advisory, founder of the festival with Ottavio Mai.  


Ira Sachs

One of the many international guests this year is the famous director Ira Sachs.

A few of his well-known movies are: Little Men, winner of the Grand Prix at the Deauville American Film Festival in 2016; Love is Strange, with Alfred Molina e John Lithgow; Keep the Lights On, winner of the Teddy Award at the Berlinale in 2012; Forty shades of blue, winner of the Sundance Dramatic Grand Jury Prize in 2005, and his first feature film, The Delta. Right now he is finishing Frankie, shot last year in Portugal, and played by Isabelle Huppert, Brendan Gleason, Jérémie Renier and Marisa Tomei. His movie, Last Address, in honor of a group of New York's artists for AIDS, is included in some permanent collections at the Whitney Museum and at the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Sachs teached at the Columbia University and he founded and directed Queer | Art, a non-profit artistic organization that gives support to LGBTQ artists.

Ira Sachs' presence at the Lovers Film Festival is supported by the General Consulate of the United States of America in Italy.



Erika Lust

Erika Lust, also confirmed her attendance at the Lovers Film Festival, she is one of the most renowed director of erotic films in the world. Born in Switzerland, she studied political sciences and feminism history, she lives and works in Barcelona and she is an expert when it comes to genderstudies. Erika Lust's narrative discusses opinions on sex: an healthy and natural element in people's life, and for this reason is worth talking about. With the project XConfessions, she created the first serie of crowdsourcing erotic films in the history of adults' films. Every month, she chooses two anonimous fantasies shared on XConfessions and transforms them in eye-catching and explicit short films that are distrubuted all over the world.

With over 150 succesful short films, Erika Lust produces and suppots young female directors, she supports their talent and helps them spread their word around the world, the intention is to open the 'doors' of the international film industry to women.


The Lovers Film Festival – Torino LGBTQI Visions is integrated from 2005 in the Museo Nazionale del Cinema and takes place with the contribution of MiBAC – General Direction Cinema, Regione Piemonte and Comune di Torino.
