Todd is a hyper-articulate, obsessive-compulsive gay 20-year-old whose fear of dying alone leads him to a puzzling conclusion: he may not be gay, after all. When he meets Rory, an actress struggling with her string of insecurities, the two form a relationship of small talk and no sex. A razor-sharp romantic comedy that is equally classic Hollywood vintage and 21st century, exploring how flexible our definitions of love and sexuality can be.
James Sweeney is an actor, screenwriter, producer and director. His short film, Normal Doors, was made as a proof-of-concept for FOX Digital Studios, based on the Straight Up script.
