AIDS Diva: The Legend of Connie Norman

by Dante Alencastre
Country: USA
Year: 2021
Duration: 62'

Connie Norman, the self-appointed “AIDS Diva”, was the masterful spokesperson of ACT UP / Los Angeles between the late 80’s and the early 90's. An iconic personality, a bridge builder in both gender and politics, who described herself as “ex drag queen, ex prostitute, ex drug addict, ex high-risk youth and current HIV-positive transgender woman”. Or, more simply, a human being seeking her humanity.
