No Ordinary Man

by Aisling Chin-Yee, Chase Joynt
Country: Canada
Year: 2020
Duration: 84'

Husband, adoptive father and musician, Billy Tipton, born in 1914 in Oklahoma, is universally considered as one of the icons of 20th Century's jazz music. The secret he always guarded closely comes to light only upon his death, in 1989: a long time before the birth of the Transgender Movement, Tipton lived as a f to m person without anyone knowing. We relive  the story of an unconventional man, from every point of view, through the words of other transgender people, between past and present.
