For Norman Maine, a Hollywood star in sad decline, the meeting with the unknown singer Ester Blodgett, who avoids a fool for him during a show, has something redeeming: to repay his debt he will launch her in the cinematic firmament, leading her to success. First dramatic role of the extraordinary Judy Garland, who should have turned 100 this year and here plays, dances, sings, enchants: an acute reflection on the Hollywood star system, which is presented in the massively restored version of the 1983, enriched by the audio of the cut scenes and very rare scene photos. A must-see for all musical lovers.
