"The truth does not lie in a single dream, but in many dreams": Pasolini concludes the "Trilogy of life" by adapting a selection of short stories from the homonymous and famous Arab anthology for the big screen. PPP's latest exploration of the Middle Ages, who here becomes exotic and mysterious: a kaleidoscope of beautiful images composing a game of interlocking joints in which the themes of sex, in all its forms, and death as its counterpart return. He had legal troubles, like the previous chapters, a minor success with the public and was awarded the Grand Jury Prize at Cannes.

Pier Paolo Pasolini

One of the most controversial intellectuals of the post-World War II period, Pier Paolo Pasolini (1922 – 1975) left an enormous imprint on the culture of our country, of which has been subtle critic and unstoppable flogger. Writer, poet, essayist, as a director he has experimented with languages and styles, proving to be a unique voice in the world film scene and giving us masterpieces such as Accattone (1961), Mamma Roma (1962), The Gospel According to St. Matthew (1964), Theorem (1968), Salò, or the 120 days of Sodom (1975).
