Mira is the captain of the local hockey team. She is forced to run her late grandmother’s farm because her grandfather is severely ill. Her mother and brother have a hostile relationship where she feels the need to mediate. When Theresa joins the team, the world that Mira has built with great difficulty seems to fall apart...Clara Stern’s debut film is a coming-of-age story which teaches us that you can lose the balance in your life and find it again in a different form, closer to the idea of who you think you are.
Clara Stern, an Austrian screenwriter and director, was born in 1987 in Vienna. She first studied screenwriting and directing at the Vienna Film Academy. She directed short films like The Islands That We Are (2011), Sun Down (2012), Waiting Time (2016) and Mathias (2017). Waiting Time was broadcast on the ARTE channel and marked her debut in the world of international festivals. She also directed the following documentaries: The Snows of Yesteryear (2013) and Luminance (2015). Breaking the Ice (2022) is her debut feature film.
