Michael Glover Smith
Michael Glover Smith (1975) has written and directed the short films At Last, Okemah! (2009), The Catastrophe (2011), Paper Planes (codirected by Alyssa Thordarson, 2023) and the feature films Cool Apocalypse (2015), Mercury in Retrograde (2017), Rendezvous in Chicago (2018) and Relative (2022). Over the course of his career, he has received various prizes such as the Siskel Center’s Star Filmmaker’s Award. He has also written a book on the history of cinema, Flickering Empire (2015).
Alyssa Thordarson
Alyssa Thordarson, actor, screenwriter and director, has appeared in various successful TV series, such as "Chicago Med", "Empire" and "The Chi". She debuted as a screenwriter with After: A Love Story (2022), directed by Clare Cooney. The first short film she directed was Paper Planes (2023), co-directed by Michael Glover Smith.
