Simeiz is a village on the southern coast of Crimea, currently occupied by the Russian army. In the Soviet era, however, it became an “underground” resort for the gay community with a small nudist beach and a popular night club.

Anton Shebetko
Anton Shebetko, originally from Kyiv, lives and works in Amsterdam. From 2018 to 2022 he studied at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie. As a video artist and photographer he tackles LGBTQI+ themes such as memory, identity loss, the numerous narratives of LGBTQI+ history and how photography has contributed to revealing the individual stories of this community.
