After his transition, Sam has never gone home and, after four years in Toronto, he embarks on the dreaded journey back home for his father’s birthday. On the train he meets Katherine, a friend from high school with a difficult life, and their feelings for each other, unresolved in the past, begin to resurface. Sam is worried about seeing his family after such a long time. What torments him is not the fear that they will reject him, but the comments and unsolicited questions that he may receive. How can he escape the ignorance and the sense of embarrassment of those who should be closely supporting him?
