COMING AROUND

Eman is 28, a second generation Egyptian-Palestinian woman, raised in Missouri and living in Brooklyn, who has decided to come out to her devout Muslim mother. Although she feels at ease among her queer Muslim friends, she doesn’t know how to behave with her mother. Eman decides to come out of the closet during a car trip. Past, present and future burst into the narration of the two women’s lives, touching on very current themes, that are in some cases considered taboo, such as integration, the confrontation between the West and Islam and homosexuality in the Islamic world.
