Howard Brackett, a teacher in Greenleaf, Indiana, is just days away from his much-awaited wedding day. Everything changes when his former student (and now famous actor) Cameron Drake thanks him, in his Oscar acceptance speech, for having inspired his portrayal of a gay soldier. The bewildered teacher finds himself on an unexpected journey that will bring him into conflict with the hypocrisy of the people around him, and lead him to question who he really is. A subtle, sparkling comedy, inspired by masters like Frank Capra and Billy Wilder, in which Kevin Kline gives an outstanding performance in the leading role.
