Melanie is carrying twins and is worried about having to have a caesarean delivery. Her wife Marcela starts hormone therapy to help to breastfeed the newborns. An intimate and positive documentary which explores motherhood and the changes it brings. These changes affect not only female bodies, but also the relationship between this Brazilian couple, along with the bond with their community, and their own identity as political actors.

Lívia Perez

In her films, Brazilian director and producer Lívia Perez focuses on topics such as sexuality, gender and the history of media. She often uses archive footage to allow voices that have been erased by time and society to be heard again in order to imagine alternative futures. An expert in communication, she studied at the Universidade de São Paulo, the University of California and at the Isaac Julien Studio. She directed the documentaries Who Killed Eloá? (2015), Lampiao da Esquina (2016) and M is for Mothers (2023).
