For Marinette Pichon, universally considered as the greatest woman football player of all times, football is more than a sport. It has been the means that enabled her to escape her toxic family. However, despite all her achievements, for a long time her professional and existential condition has remained second-class . Female football players were (and still are) not recognised as professionals in France. Being the first French female player to sign with the Philadephia Charge team, allows her to set herself free. And finally, everything changes: she no longer has to hide her sexuality.

Virginie Verrier

Virginie Verrier graduated from the Paris-based Conservatoire Libre du Cinéma Français. She debuted as director in 2009 with the short movie T’essuies tes pieds steuplé!, followed by Faits divers in the same year. Her first feature film, À deux heures de Paris (2018), was released in 2018. In addition, she directed 78 episodes of the TV series "En famille", aired on channel M6. She later took part in the Tribeca Film Festival presenting Marinette (2023) in the international competition.
