Abdellah Taïa
Abdellah Taïa is a Moroccan writer, director, and scriptwriter. He studied French literature at the universities of Rabat, Geneva and Paris, and published autobiographical novels, like An Arab Melancholia and the coming-of-age novel Salvation Army. In 2013 he began his directing career with the film Salvation Army, based on his own novel. The film was also presented at the Settimana della Critica at the Venice Film Festival.
