What happened to Truman Capote's last unfinished novel? A caustic collection of the vices and flaws of New York high society, excerpts of which appeared in "Esquire" in the Seventies... Ruining his friendships with the upper middle class whose darling he had been for years. And plunging him into a vortex of depression, alcohol and drugs, damaging his career irreversibly. The audio recordings collected by the co-founder of “The Paris Review” George Plimpton, presented in this archive documentary, try to shed light on what is a real detective story.
