THE SUMMER WITH CARMEN

by Zacharias Mavroeidis
Country: Greece
Year: 2023
Duration: 106'

While enjoying the day on a queer beach in Athens, 30-year-old Demosthenes helps Nikitas, his friend and aspiring director, work out the idea behind his film debut: they start from Carmen, a cute little dog whose owner is Demosthenes’ ex. But turning reality into a screenplay is never easy, especially when you hit upon issues you thought were resolved. And the friendship between the two would-be collaborators is taking a new and unexpected direction… Lots of laughs in this biting comedy, presented at the Venice Giornate in 2023.
