It is 1962 and France is caught in the grip of the Algerian War. The echoes and effects of the bloody conflict, to which there seems to be no solution, often dramatically involve Serge, François, Henri and Maité, 4 teenagers from the Southwest of the country. Friendship, repulsion, and attraction govern their relationships, as their discovery of themselves and the world around them transforms them. In particular, François, played by newcomer Gael Morel, realizes that what he feels for both Henri and Serge has a precise definition, which frightens him. But which he cannot and will not escape from.

André Téchiné
Born in 1943 in Valence d’Agen, André Téchiné worked as an editor for the French film journal “Cahiers du Cinéma” from 1964 to 1967. He made his directorial debut in 1969 with Paulina is leaving, followed by Hotel America in 1981, I Don’t Kiss in 1991 and Wild Reeds in 1994, in all three movies he explores recurrent themes of escapism, boundaries and homosexuality. He later directed Loin (2001), Changing Times (2004), The Witnesses (2007), Unforgivable (2011), Being 17 (2016), and My New Friends (2024).
