PRIMA DI TUTTO

BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE
by Marco Simon Puccioni
Country: Italy
Year: 2012
Duration: 90'

Marco and Giampietro became fathers of twins thanks to the help of a donor mother and a surrogate mother, both American. And it is Marco who chooses to recount in this documentary the courageous decision that changed their lives: the difficulties, the hopes, and the changes in perception, both of themselves and of other members of society, that it entailed. A territory unknown to most heterosexual families, but also to homosexual families, who are not granted any rights in Italy. A territory which is explored in an analysis of the essence of parenthood.
