QUIR

In Palermo there is a shop, unlike any other, called Quir, a place of love that defies any convention. The owners are Massimo and Gino, together for forty-two years in life and business. Theirs is a small shop specializing in leather goods but, above all, a space where anyone passing through that alley in the Ballarò district is welcomed, listened to and cared for. This is why it has become an important meeting point for the local LGBTQI+ community, who are fighting for their rights in Sicily, still a stronghold of patriarchal culture and homophobia.
