SAD JOKES
Country: Germany
Year: 2024
Duration: 96'

Joseph, a film director, has had a child with Sonya, a long-time friend. Now working on a new film, he has never recovered from the break-up with his ex-boyfriend Marc, while Sonya is sinking into depression, to the point that she is admitted to a clinic. So Joseph finds himself having to raise the child alone, an uncomfortable role for which he was not prepared and which he has to juggle with professional commitments and the developments in a love life that is not exactly stable. A life-saving sense of irony pervades this new, unpredictable feature by Fabian Stumm, who was already at Lovers 2023 presenting Bones and Names.
