Sally Gearhart was a theorist and activist, who led the 1970s and 80s lesbian feminist movement in the US. This compelling portrait praises her powerful personality, her pioneering life choices and her crucial political achievements, some side by side with Harvey Milk. However, it does not overlook the underlying contradictions in the relationship between movements and their leaders. A whirlwind journey through the sexiest pages in the history of militant lesbianism and a reflection on the tensions inherent in radical movements.
