Marko is a gifted athlete, but his father wants him to become a mechanic after finishing school. Two events turn the boy's seemingly stable life upside down: the village where he lives is threatened by a flood, and Slaven, his forbidden first love, returns. Marko struggles to come to terms with this situation and the closer the flood comes, the more emotional he gets. While the villagers work tirelessly to build protective dams around their houses, Marko builds his own dam designed to keep his emotions under control. But just like water, feelings manage to overcome all obstacles.

Čejen Černić Čanak
Čejen Černić Čanak Is a Croatian director for both cinema and television. She graduated from the Academy of Dramatic Arts at Zagreb University. In 2017, her debut feature-length film, The Mystery of Green Hill, based on the children’s book of the same name by Ivan Kušan, was presented at many different international film festivals and acclaimed by both Croatian audiences and the critics. Her last feature-length movie, Sandbag Dam (2024), was presented at the Teddy Awards during the last Berlin Film Festival.
