VELVET GOLDMINE
Country: UK
Year: 1998
Duration: 118'

What happened to Brian Slade, the most outrageous rock star of the 1970s glam scene? Hot on his trail is journalist Arthur Stuart, who had been an obsessive fan of his and, with a sense of nostalgia, finds himself reliving the turbulent years of his own youth. The film that brought fame to Todd Haynes. An engaging, fairy-tale-like tribute to the excesses of a glitzy and kitsch decade: on-screen the alter egos of David Bowie, Iggy Pop, Brian Ferry, heroes of an unrepeatable, epic time. Nominated for the Academy Award for Best Costume Design, the cast includes Ewan McGregor, who is more sensual and seductive than ever before.
