VIVRE, MOURIR, RENAÎTRE

TO LIVE, TO DIE, TO LIVE AGAIN
by Gaël Morel
Country: France
Year: 2024
Duration: 109'

Paris, 1990s. Emma is in a relationship with Sammy, with whom she has a child. Their lives take an unexpected detour when they meet their new neighbor, photographer Cyril. Sammy befriends him and, little by little, the attraction between the two inevitably manifests, threatening his bond with Emma. This at first seems a terrible dilemma, but it turns out to be simply one of “life’s passing storms” when compared to death. In fact, looming over them is the threat of AIDS, the only real limit to the different dynamics of affections. Gaël Morel’s return to directing, with which he took part in the last Queer Palm.
