As summer ends, three friends embark on a journey back to their hometown while Sasha, after undergoing gender‑affirming surgery, dreams of swimming shirtless. During the trip, memories of the past and the violence faced by those who asserted different sexual and gender identities resurface. The story weaves together tender moments and growing tensions, highlighting themes of care and understanding toward one another. Bright and optimistic, infused with humour and poetry, the film is a portrait of three characters reclaiming their past.
Biography

Zak Slattery
Filmmaker from Gatineau (Quebec), Zak Slattery (they/them) are graduates in Fine Arts at Concordia University. During their studies, they directed Beyond the Troubled Water (2023), a short fiction film selected at several film festivals. Slattery's cinema explores themes such as coming of age and gender identity, in an attempt to deconstruct the dictates of queer cinema through a delicate and humorous approach.
