1984. Antonio is a farmer who runs a ranch in the rural region of Batalha dos Neves, Brazil. One day, he finds Marcelo on the side of the road, injured, unconscious, and the victim of a motorcycle accident. Antonio brings him home to tend to his wounds. The newcomer’s presence disrupts the man’s isolated existence, and an uncontrollable passion explodes between them, evolving into an overwhelming, all‑consuming bond. However, Antonio’s father does not look kindly upon their union, and in a wild, remote land, a man’s life can be worth little to nothing… A sensual melodrama that moves between past and present, memory and illusion, Eros and Thanatos. Amidst statuesque bodies and beautifully photographed bucolic landscapes, Daniel Nolasco pays homage to two archetypes, aesthetic and otherwise, of the queer imagination: the cowboy and the biker. The film pays homage to Western cinema in all its forms, drawing inspiration from Nicholas Ray, Andy Warhol and David Lynch.
