FLESH FOR FRANKENSTEIN

FLESH FOR FRANKESNTEIN
by Paul Morrissey
Country: Italy
Year: 1973
Duration: 95'

How to create the perfect race? According to Baron von Frankenstein, inclined toward Nazi ideology — as well as incest and necrophilia — it would merely require mating two creatures specifically assembled from parts of carefully selected corpses. An impossible experiment which, however, seems to work… A gruesome and hilariously bizarre blend of horror, eroticism and science fiction, featuring an over-the-top performance by Udo Kier as the sinister protagonist. Alongside him are Joe Dallesandro and Dalila Di Lazzaro, in a film directed by Andy Warhol and Paul Morrissey, bringing to life a story by Tonino Guerra. Loosely inspired by Mary Shelley, it forms a diptych with the equally absurd Blood for Dracula (1974), in which Udo Kier plays the infamous vampire — in his own unmistakable way, of course.
