JULIAN
Country: Belgium
Year: 2025
Duration: 91'

Julian and Fleur love each other deeply and completely. As a symbolic and political act, they decide to marry not only in Belgium, where they live, but in all the other countries where same‑sex marriage is legal — 22 at the time the story is set. Although deeply committed to making this dream come true, the couple has to face significant challenges, especially financial ones: they are forced to sell much of what they own and leave behind the comfort of a middle‑class life, stepping into an uncertain and unpredictable future. Despite these obstacles and the practical difficulties of carrying out what seems like a seemingly crazy undertaking — but one that makes perfect sense to them — Fleur and Julian move forward with unstoppable momentum. Until life gets in the way and upends their plans. This elliptical, fragmented melodrama unfolding across multiple timelines explores the courage it takes to love, and the consequences that such a choice can have today.
