In a family-run Pakistani restaurant in England, chaos and tension are everywhere, yet a sense of harmony prevails and a spirit of unity overcomes all difficulties. But when the young Zafar walks in, Magid immediately tries to shield him from the family’s intrusive questions: the secret between them must not be revealed. The fine line between the personal and the communal within close-knit, supportive communities becomes a divide that forces people to lead double lives and betray themselves.
