MARDOCHI
Country: France
Year: 2025
Duration: 27'

Vincent returns from Rabat after seeking out his Jewish father’s childhood home, which had been abandoned years earlier during the struggle for Morocco’s independence. On his way to the hospital where his father is being treated, he meets Ahmed, a Moroccan student. Their shared sense of estrangement from their own past leads to a profound connection that prompts Vincent to reclaim his roots. The memory of the violent clashes between Arabs and Jews during the struggle for independence reveals a difficult cultural legacy. Vincent must not only come to terms with his family history, but also navigate his sexual identity.
