ALL THE LOVERS
MIANE ROYA VA OMID
BETWEEN DREAMS AND HOPE
by Farnoosh Samadi
Azad, a trans man, and his partner, Nora, are making plans for their future when things get complicated as Azad begins his transition. Despite living in Tehran surrounded by supportive friends, the couple travels to Azad’s hometown to get the documents required for the surgery. Once there, the tension becomes palpable—subtle malice and open hostility that finally erupt into a violent fight. Azad disappears into thin air, leaving Nora alone to look for him. Farnoosh Samadi is one of the most acclaimed filmmakers in contemporary Iranian cinema. With her distinctive and visionary approach, she invites us to witness a poignant love story, one that grapples with the oppressive hatred surrounding it and ultimately refuses to bow to societal constraints.
