The future has never felt more uncertain for 50‑year‑old Jack. He has spent his entire life harvesting shellfish on the island of Anglesey. However, with the hospitality industry in crisis, demand has plummeted, leaving him with far less work. His only option is to hold on to the craft that has sustained his family for generations. He wishes his teenage son, Tom, to join him, but Tom prefers to have fun instead. The arrival of Daniel, a wandering sailor, shakes Jack’s life to its core. Daniel quickly grows close to him and eventually confesses his feelings. Despite being married to Maggie and never having cheated on her, Jack finds himself grappling with mounting doubts and unexpected desires. The film offers a profound exploration of masculinity against a backdrop of striking contrasts, reflecting the protagonist’s tormented soul and the complexity within his community.
