Tomas and Martin are a couple, but it is Tomas, a successful director, who dominates the relationship. His mercurial, self‑absorbed behaviour conceals a deep well of insecurity. When he meets Agathe, their mutual attraction pushes Tomas to leave Martin. However, when Martin moves on and begins an affair of his own, Tomas starts to reconsider his choices. In his film, Ira Sachs, a frequent guest of the LFF, returns to melodrama, supported by an exceptional cast (Ben Whishaw, Franz Rogowski, Adèle Exarchopoulos). The result is the portrait of a whimsical, ruthless, and layered character whose impulsive choices mirror the emotional confusion we all carry.
