Sasha is 7 years old, she has always known she is a girl even though she was born a boy. Since society does not treat like the other children of her age, her family, which supports her, strives to make sure she is understood and accepted. It is the latest documentary of Sébastien Lifshitz, which was presented at the Berlin FIlm Festival 2020. The French director, who was a guest at the Festival several times, has been an attentive osserver of the LGBTQI universe for more than 20 years, and was always able to narrate its mutations and changes with sensitivity and acuity.

Sébastien Lifshitz (1968) debuted in 1996 with the short film Il faut que je l’aime, which was followed by Claire Denis la vagabonde (1996), Les corps ouverts (1998), for which he won the Prix Jean-Vigo and the 1998 Kodak Short Film Award in Cannes, Presque rien (2000), his first feature film, La Traversée (2001), Wild Side (2004), winner of the Teddy Award at the Berlin Film Festival, Plein Sud (2009), Les invisibles (2012), which won a Prix César and an Étoile d’or, Bambi (2012), winner of his second Teddy, Les vies de Thérèse (2016), thanks to which he was awarded the Queer Palm in Cannes, Adolescentes (2019), which became the best documentary at the César Awards, and Petite Fille (2020).
